Vibrafloor

The concept of active floor was invented in the mid eighties by Jean-Claude Poncet as a solution to clean residual piles from inside horizontal silos. Basically, the foot of the pile is reckoned to be its weak part. The technique consists in destabilizing the foot of the pile by vibration to provoke its collapsing. Initially developed for grain silos, the active floor VIBRAFLOOR is now in use in various bulk industries, inside silos, ships and railway cars.

An active floor is made of independent modules, laid side by side and end to end to cover a floor area.

Modules are factory pre assembled and hauled to site by trucks or containers. Installation consists in positioning modules on the floor and connecting electric motors.
